Upcoming Programming at Seattle Children’s Museum

At Seattle Children’s Museum we believe the fun isn’t limited to our permanent exhibit spaces. Each month,  our staff puts on their thinking caps to schedule a line-up of educational family-friendly events and programs in collaboration with community organizations Seattle knows and loves. Some fan-favorites have included visits from the Reptile Lady and her scaled friends, story times with community authors and icons, and seasonal celebrations including Spring Fling and Fall Fest, and Noon Year’s Eve.

Daily Programs

SCM offers staff-led daily programs integrating Science, Art, and JOY into the activities. Rotating programs consist of:

  • Story Time | Read stories and sing songs exploring current events, social emotional learning, historical figures, and many more!
  • Silly Science | Playful exploration of scientific concepts and phenomena using handmade catapults, gooey slime, and more.
  • Creative Corner | Process based, hands-on discovery of 2D and 3D art media using spinning paint, colorful clays, and more.

Self-guided daily program:

  • PNW Nature Walk | Search our in-house mountain for Pacific Northwest flora, fauna, and creatures of all shapes and sizes.

Seattle Children’s Museum school-break and summer camps, led by our dedicated education staff, offer uniquely themed programs that spark curiosity and creativity through interdisciplinary activities in science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM). Your child will have the chance to make new friends, learn through hands-on exploration, and express themselves through movement, imagination, and play.

Our camps go beyond fun and engaging activities—they also provide valuable developmental benefits. Through immersive play and team-building exercises, children enhance their social-cognitive skills, executive function, and motor skills. With a focus on growth and creativity, our camps offer a dynamic space for your child to learn, play, and thrive during their school breaks.

Starting in fall 2025, our classes will follow a semester-based schedule, just like the school year, with both fall and spring semesters. Each semester includes three 4-week sessions led by professional museum educators or professional community partners, creating an intimate, welcoming environment where your child can learn, grow, and explore. This fall, we’re excited to offer three unique classes for children as young as 6 months, each designed to spark curiosity and inspire a love of learning.
