Fall Preschool Classes Now Enrolling

Registration for SCM’s fall preschool classes is now open! Limited spots are now available for Session 1 which will run from September 6 – October 20. Session 2 registration will open in late September.
Our classes taught by professional museum educators provide your child with an intimate, welcoming environment to learn and develop in. We’ll ensure your child cements crucial skills and explores concepts to help them prepare for preschool and elementary education, while also learning about themselves, the world around them, and most importantly, having fun!

Sensory Learners

Offered Twice a Week
Wednesday & Thursday Mornings 10:00-10:45am
Ages: 2-3 years (with caregiver present)

Learn, touch, and feel through exploration and engagement of all 5 senses. Children will problem solve, interact with others, ignite their curiosity and creativity and even get a little messy. Your child will develop fine motor skills as we use our bodies to touch and feel to  form objects and art, and social-cognitive abilities as we share and play with our instructor and fellow classmates.

*No Class on November 22nd/23rd.

Art & Science Explorers

Offered Once a Week
Friday Afternoons 1:00-2:00pm
Ages: 3 -4 years (with caregiver present)
Cost: $100 Nonmembers | $90 Members

Your child will gain crucial skill development in inquiry, investigation and engineering practices in this class that follows Kindergarten Next Gen Science Standards. Make independent discoveries and investigate scientific concepts through phenomena linked to art and crafts, guided experiments and games.

Q: What is Museums for All?

A: “Museums for all” is a nationwide initiative that aims to ensure that every family and child has access to a high quality museum experience. Families with EBT, CHIP, WIC, Provider One, or Apple Health are able to access SCM offerings at discounted rates. Proof of qualification for this rate is required at check-in on the 1st day of class.

Q: Who qualifies as a "caregiver"?

A: SCM considers caregivers to be individuals at least 18 years old.

Q: If I want to play in the museum after class with my child do we need to pay for admission separately?

A: No, you do not need to pay for separate admission if staying in the museum after class! Stay and play as long as you’d like.

Q: What other educational programs does SCM offer?

A: While all of the museum’s work is rooted in education and providing children with opportunities to learn through play, all of our offers for field trips, school groups, and educators can be viewed HERE.

Q: What is the cancellation policy?

A: You may cancel up to one week before the session starts for a full refund excluding the $20 registration fee. If cancelled within one week of the session start date or after, your registration is 100% non-refundable.
