Take a Voyage of Exploration Through Orca Cove

Welcome to Orca Cove, our exhibit especially designed for our youngest explorers aged from Birth – 3 years old. Featuring  touchable, movable, and testable exhibit elemnents, Orca Cove is designed to engage your little ones as they explore the world around them, develop their senses, and make connections to their communities.

Older siblings are welcome to join younger ones in this exhibit; we just ask that they play carefully and make little ones the priority.

Small Fry Cafe

Your little one will build and establish independence and empathy through role play. With a variety of play-kitchen toys, the space encoruages togetherness and community building, givng everyone a spot in behind the line, and a seat at the table.

Gone Fishin'

Developing hand-eye coordination while fishing and listening to play urges, your child may collect, sort, and count fish to establish early patterning and math skills.

Discovery Dock

Designed for children 18 months and under, Discovery Dock exposes infants to auditory, tactile, and visual stimulation, while providing space for muscle exercise and development to take place.

SCM’s Newest Exhibit Expansion – Discovery Dock

Opened on March 3, Discovery Dock is Seattle Children’s Museum’s newest exhibit expansion designed for children 18 months and under to support their growth and development. Discovery Dock is open daily during standard Museum hours so come check it out for you and your little one to experience:

  • Grab bars to support muscle growth and groww-motor movements
  • Moveable soft mats for caregivers to place down to encourage tummy time and actions like pushing up and rolling over
  • Mirrors for facial recognition and spacial awareness
  • Busy boards and interactives for tactile, auditory, and visual stimulation to encourage exploration
