Beyond the Box and Cardboard City are back at Seattle Children’s Museum for their 2nd installment. Open daily Wednesday – Monday from 10:00am – 4:45pm, these exhibits encourage you to take your creativity outside the box!

Beyond The Box

Children (and adults!) put your creative mind to work building 2D and 3D artwork! With the use of common materials and loads of cardboard, design and build props for dramatic play, one of a kind sculptures, or even a comfy chair.

Join us in thinking Beyond the Box from March 20 – April 14.

Cardboard City
Open April 20 - May 20

Calling all city planners, construction workers, engineers, and curious citizens. Come take part in helping us build a cardboard city, complete with neighborhoods, streets, buildings, bridges, maybe even cardboard airplanes overhead!

Our Cardboard City is under construction from April 20 – May 20

In Beyond the Box & Cardboard City, visitors can put their skills to work utilizing a variety of materials and Makedo tools including kid-safe saws, perferators, and screwdrivers with reusable screws. Like what you play with? Check out the SCM shop to take some Makedo tools home with you!

Beyond the Box and Cardboard City are perfect exhibits for adults to get involved and have just as much fun (if not more) as your kiddos. Come ready to put your hard hats on as you collaborate with your family to design, assemble, and test out your creations.

While you’re welcome to take your creation home with you, you can also display it on our Beyond the Box Show Shelves to act as a blue print for another eager designer. In Cardboard City, placeĀ  your creation in your neighborhood of chocie for it to enhance the resident’s environment!
