Newport Robotics Group

The Newport Robotics Group, FRC Team 948 from Newport High School will be visiting us on November 12th from 10:00 am- 5:00 pm. Come visit them at SCM and test drive their robot, interact with their members, and check out some of their activities they have to offer!
NRG is part of a larger organization called FIRST and more specifically, FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC). Each year, they build an industrial-sized robot that competes in a strenuous field game against other competitive teams. Through this process, FIRST introduces the world of STEM and business as members of our team learn to raise funds, communicate effectively with the community, grasp the iterative process, etcetera. Their mission as a team is to spread this opportunity to our community and unite members by teaching students the essential skills they’ll need for their future careers through robotics. Stop by and see what they have to offer!
