Why Enroll In Camps at Seattle Children’s Museum?

Seattle Children’s Museum school-break and summer camps, led by our dedicated education staff, offer uniquely themed programs that spark curiosity and creativity through interdisciplinary activities in science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM). Your child will have the chance to make new friends, learn through hands-on exploration, and express themselves through movement, imagination, and play.

SCM camps go beyond fun and engaging activities, they also provide valuable educational benefits. Through immersive, hands-on play and creative project based learning, children enhance their social-cognitive skills and problem-solving skills. With a focus on growth and creativity, our camps offer a dynamic space for your child to learn, play, and thrive during their school breaks.

Monorails & Trails
June 22 – 26 | 9am-4pm
Ages 7-12 years

Campers will embark on public transit to visit Seattle staples and learn about route building, and the physics of transportation.

Ages 5-10 years

Campers will practice appreciation for nature and sustainability through science experiments, artful storytelling, and fairy engineering.

Working with SCM’s educators and SCT’s Teaching Artists, campers will learn all about animals, design habitats, and create their own creatures.

Campers will turn everyday objects into art using recycled materials while exploring engineering, and playful experimentation.

Campers will dive into a wide range of creative expression, from large mural-sized pieces to engineering small instruments using recycled materials.

Dollhouse Design 2.0

Campers will create and bring home a custom designed doll house, complete with wallpaper, furniture, flooring, accents, and whatever little details needed for a home sweet home.

Magic Museum: Artistic Artifacts
August 17 – 21 | 9am-4pm
Ages 5-8

Working with SCM’s educators and SCT’s Teaching Artists, campers will design and build their own enchanted artifacts with materials and props before embarking on a playful quest of imaginative storytelling.

Fashion Lab
August 24 – 28 | 9am-4pm
Ages 7-12

Campers will experiment with sketching, draping, hand sewing, and creative identity-building as they transform recycled fabrics from Pacific Northwest Ballet into unique wearable and/or functional art.

Activities & Learnings May Include: Spell book creation, character and scene development, light-up magic wand construction, horticulture jar making, and more.

Q: Where is Camp Drop-off & Pick-up?

A: Camp drop-off and pick-up is located at the MoPOP Roundabout. Our instructors will be waiting to meet you there before walking the campers over to the Museum. Please ensure your camper is dressed appropriately for potential inclement weather!

For late arrivers or early pick-ups, campers must be picked up by an adult listed on the camper’s forms inside the museum.

Q: Do you offer early drop off or late pick up?

A: SCM is no longer offering early or late pick up for camps.

Q: Should I pack my camper a snack?

A: Yes! Please ensure your child is prepared for their day with a water bottle and snack. If you are registering your child for Full-Day Camp or workshop, you will also need to pack them a lunch and enough food for 2 different snack times. We ask that you avoid packing common allergens, such as peanuts, tree nuts, or shellfish.

Q: How will I be notified if a day of camp is cancelled due to extreme inclement weather?

A: While we do not anticipate to cancel any of our camp days, in the event of extreme snow, ice, or other forms of inclement weather, the Museum may close to the public for staff and visitor safety. In the event of a Museum closure and camp cancellation, you will be notified via email and the Museum will post on its social channels. You’ll also receive a partial refund for each day(s) cancelled.

Q: What is your Camp Refund Policy?

A: Our refund policy varies across camps. Please always refer to the refund/cancellation policy on the registration page when signing up as it may differ from previous camps and workshops.

Q: How do I request a refund?

A: All camp refund requests can be made by emailing education@seattlechildrensmuseum. Please include your first and last name, camper’s first and last name, and your order # if you have it.
